Fusion Training Days have been designed with potential Fusion Leaders in mind, equipping them with knowledge and practical experience to help them in leading The Fusion Programme. This is achieved in a friendly and informative environment where participants genuinely enjoy the training. Who can attend Fusion Training DaysAt least two people from an organisation need to attend Training as two facilitators are needed to lead The Fusion Programme. However, one of these facilitators might be a parent or carer that has close links with the organisation or agency that will be hosting The Fusion Programme. Both facilitators will need to be able to demonstrate a good level of competence in their ability to work with parents. They will also need to have been previously identified by their agency or line manager as being suitable for this training before attending. There are two categories for training:Fusion 1 day TrainingThis is specific Training relevant to The Fusion Programme. This training is suitable for people who have been recognised by their agency and already have adequate qualifications/experience of working with parents. This day primarily focuses on the history of Fusion, how to work with Fusion groups and the other group facilitator, and ways in which to build a Fusion community. The day also gives the facilitators a chance to familiarise themselves with the course materials, look at the preparation and costs involved and experiment with leading a mock Fusion group and using the Better Parents website. Fusion 2 day TrainingThis is specific Training relevant to The Fusion Programme and also covers principles and values of working with parents and leading groups. This training is suitable for people who have been recognised by their agency and who would benefit from further training in working with parents and a deeper understanding of the principles and values involved in working in the partnership model. Day 1 delves deeper into the principles and values of working with all parents whilst using a universal course. Day 2 is identical to the 1 day training stated above. These training days have been specifically set up like this. In this way, if the two facilitators have differing levels of experience or need, and one facilitator requires the two day option, they can still attend the one day training together. All participants are given a Training Day pack full of relevant information and strategies for engaging parents. The Fusion Programme Training covers the following topics:
